Princess Cut Diamonds

This cut is faceted in a brilliant style with sharp uncut corners and is typically square. It generally has 76 facets and is the second most popular cut. As with all fancy shapes all things being equal it costs less per carat than a round brilliant as there is a greater yield from the rough diamond. When used as a centre stone it is best to choose a well cut diamond above 0.4 carats. A princess cut will generally look smaller than other cuts of the same weight because of its greater depth.
