Oval Cut Diamonds

The ends should be gracefully rounded with the facets and angles aligned so as not to give a dark “bow tie” effect (a dark area in the shape of a bow tie) in the middle. A well cut oval will look bigger from above than other shapes of the same weight, so it makes for an attractive centre diamond for those looking for something different.
